NFL insider John Clayton has come out and said he thinks the New England Patriots could make a move this offseason to try and land wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh Steelers fans, it’s looking more and more likely that the team will not be bringing back star wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster next season. Because of cap issues, it’s unlikely the organization will be able to put the kind of money the wideout wants on the table.

With that said, teams are going to be lining up in free agency to try and secure his services. According to NFL insider John Clayton, the New England Patriots could be among the teams ready to pry Smith-Schuster away from Pittsburgh.

The New England Patriots could make a splash and try to sign JuJu Smith-Schuster this offseason

Not only are the Steelers getting ready to lose Smith-Schuster this offseason, but you mean to tell us that he could end up suiting up for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots starting in 2021? Should that happen, you wouldn’t be able to measure the amount of heartbreak all over Pittsburgh.

Since arriving to the organization in 2017 out of Southern California, Smith-Schuster has become a fan favorite for the team. He’s been outstanding on the field too, posting 308 receptions for 3,726 yards and 26 touchdowns. This past season, Smith-Schuster had another strong year, recording 97 receptions for 831 yards and a career-high nine scores.

Come next campaign, Smith-Schuster will hope to not only have a big season, but also help his teammates go on a deep postseason run. Per Clayton, we very well could see Smith-Schuster making a move from the AFC North to the AFC East to play under Belichick. Stay tuned to see where the speedster will play next.
