Michael Irvin is fired up over the Dallas Cowboys signing Dak Prescott, as he’s compared the star signal-caller to the one and only Tom Brady.

The Dallas Cowboys have made quite the splash this past week, finally agreeing to a huge contract extension with signal-caller Dak Prescott. The star quarterback has been wanting a new deal from the organization for years, and Jerry Jones delivered.

Looking ahead, Prescott will be motivated to get the Cowboys back to the postseason and live up to his new deal. He’ll also have the confidence knowing that team legend Michael Irvin has come out and compared him to the GOAT, Tom Brady.

Michael Irvin comparing Dak Prescott to Tom Brady will certainly fire up Cowboys fans

Irvin has always been known for his passion and he definitely didn’t hold back in his segment with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.

“We have the closest thing in the National Football League to Tom Brady,” Irvin said with plenty of fire. “Dak Prescott has the ability to do what Tom does, and he has the leadership like Tom.”

If you’re a Cowboys fan, you’ve got to be ready to run through a wall after seeing that video of Irvin with Smith. Irvin will go down as one of the best offensive playmakers in Dallas history. The fact that he speaks so highly of Prescott really is something.

The quarterback suffered his fractured ankle against the New York Giants early last season, which truly was heartbreaking to see. With Prescott out for the year, the Cowboys missed the postseason and finished the campaign 6-10. Now, Prescott is grinding to get himself back in his best shape possible for the 2021. Countless Dallas supporters have full trust in him returning to his top form, Irvin included.
