5 players Tennessee Titans should draft in the first round
3. Jaycee Horn
If the Titans don’t go with an edge rusher in Round 1 then it likely means they’ll add a cornerback capable of starting right away. Horn is really the only corner projected to be available at No. 23 who would represent good value.
Horn’s size, physicality, and competitiveness all jump out for him on film. He’s a big corner that’s not afraid to challenge wide receivers at the line of scrimmage. That skill should translate well for Horn at the next level.
The problems with him as a prospect come when he’s asked to be a finesse guy in space. His technique in zone coverage is going to need a lot of work at the next level. His tackling also leaves a lot to be desired for a player with his physical profile.
Horn certainly isn’t the most polished corner in his draft class, but he’s got the upside required to be a No. 1 starter on the outside if things break right for his development. That could be too much for the Titans to pass on if he’s still on the board at 23.
