1. Gregory Rousseau

Opting out of the 2020 season hasn’t done Rousseau’s draft stock any favors. No one seems to be entirely sure of where to place him in Round 1. The Titans should celebrate if he falls to them at No. 23.

He’s not the most refined edge rusher in this draft class, but he does have the freakish athleticism NFL teams covet. Rousseau is a legitimate 6-foot-5 and has long arms that make him play even bigger. Even if he doesn’t get to the passer he’s going to knock down a lot of balls with his exceptional length.

Anyone that drafts Rousseau might have to exercise a bit of patience. He just doesn’t have that many reps as an edge rusher. He predominantly played safety and wide receiver in high school before Miami wisely switched him to defensive end.

He’s still the right pick for the Titans because he has some chance of developing into an All-Pro. That’s the kind of gamble they need to take to transform their defense from good to great. Tennessee should consider trading up for Rousseau if they hear rumbling he won’t fall to them towards the bottom of Round 1.
