Alabama basketball wins SEC Tournament for the first time since 1991
Herbert Jones was the SEC Player of the Year and poured in 13 points to go along with team-highs with 11 rebounds, four blocks and six assists in the 80-79 win over LSU. In what was one of the best college basketball games of the year, Alabama basketball showed throughout the season and SEC Tournament they have the championship mettle to go on a run in the NCAA Tournament.
Helping Jones against LSU were Jaden Shackelford who had a team-best 21 points, Keon Ellis and Jahvon Quinerly who scored 14 points apiece.
While it’s Alabama football that’s used to taking one of the spots in college football’s version of the Final Four with the College Football Playoff, it’s now Alabama basketball that’s got a great chance at giving the Crimson Tide fans another team worth rooting for and supporting.
Alabama is more than a football school now. The basketball team is doing big things.
