The Buffalo Bills will make sure Josh Allen is well protected in 2021.

The Buffalo Bills entered the offseason with three key contributors potentially leaving in free agency. That changed quickly.

Matt Milano, the team’s cover linebacker, agreed to terms on Thursday. Daryl Williams, the team’s starting right tackle, came to terms to remain in Orchard Park on Friday.

On Sunday, the Bills completed the trifecta.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills have come to terms with offensive guard, Jon Feliciano on a three-year deal. The deal is expected to deal is worth up to $17 million. What’s crazier is that Feliciano could have garnered more money on the open market to join another team.

Instead, he chose to stay with Buffalo and help build a contender.

Feliciano missed the start of the 2020 season due to a torn pectoral muscle, but when returned to the field to play 12 total games. His role on the offensive line ignited a spark that would carry Buffalo deep into the postseason.

It led to Josh Allen also having a MVP-caliber season in the AFC.

Feliciano makes the Bills are top-notched offensive line

There’s versatility when looking at a player like Feliciano. Not only has he played both guard positions, but he filled in for Mitch Morse at center in several games. Per Pro Football Focus, Feliciano did not allow a sack this season.

Since coming to Buffalo, he’s only allowed four sacks and seven total quarterback hits.

With Williams and Feliciano both set to return, Buffalo will have all of their offensive linemen from last season back in action for another season. This was the initial starting roster before injuries got in the way.

Next season, expect  the group of Williams, Feliciano, Morse, Cody Ford and Dion Dawkins to be lined up in that order on any given snap.

Buffalo’s offensive line as a whole wasn’t terrible despite the injuries. They allowed 27 total sacks, ninth-fewest in the NFL for 2020. In large part, Williams and Feliciano were the two most consistent players on the line.

It seems like the Bills are trying to keep a majority of last year’s playoff team together. Buffalo made a run to the AFC Championship before bowing out at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead. Should 2021 be a repeat for Buffalo, perhaps their recent moves will get them over the hump.
