Conspiracy theories run wild Kentucky AD snubbed Louisville for March Madness

There is never a wrong time to tinfoil hat it and start believing in a conspiracy. Check out this one brewing between the Kentucky basketball program and the Louisville basketball team.

It will be a sad march in the Bluegrass State this year, as the Kentucky basketball team was atrocious and the Louisville basketball program missed out on the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

As Louisville fans try to come to grips with being one of the biggest snubs, you better believe they are in full-blown conspiracy mode after seeing this. The selection committed for this year’s tournament, who is chaired by Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart, left the Cardinals out of the 68-team field. If Kentucky can’t make the tournament, then neither should Louisville. Oh, it is a conspiracy.

Blue-bloods have struggled mightily on the hardwood in a COVID year

Many of the most storied college basketball programs in the country were unable to get a team into this year’s tournament up in Indianapolis. This is a downside to the one-and-done era, as 18-year-olds are even less ready to play in a season constrained by the coronavirus. It contributed to Kentucky’s worst season ever, but it did not have to cost Louisville a shot at March Madness at all.

Ultimately, this will have to be settled on the football field next year. Keep in mind that these instate rivals did not mean on the gridiron a year ago due to the ACC and SEC going essentially conference-only for the season. If this bitter rivalry needed any more juice, it certainly has it now in spades, as this feels like a conspiracy every Cardinals fan should believe in whole-heartedly.

Barnhart is even more disliked by Louisville fans after they were snubbed from the tournament.
