Texas basketball won their first-ever Big 12 Tournament title on Saturday evening and Matthew McConaughey’s reaction was priceless.

The Texas Longhorns basketball team knocked off the Oklahoma Sooners 91-86 to win this year’s Big 12 championship game. The win marked the first time the Longhorns had ever accomplished the feat and it came in a strange fashion.

Kansas was forced to withdraw from their matchup with Texas because of COVID-19 health and safety protocols, which caused the Longhorns to automatically advance to the finals, where they ran into and took care of Cade Cunningham and Oklahoma State.

It’s been an interesting year in college basketball, to say the least, and the Longhorns had been affected directly. Head coach Shaka Smart missed time earlier in the season due to COVID-19, but the team has persevered and put themselves in a great position heading into the madness. Acting legend and long-time Longhorns fan Matthew McConaughey had an absolutely priceless reaction to the historic program win.

Classic McConaughey.

This win has to feel great for Longhorns fans as they await their tournament matchup.

Texas basketball likely will be a 3-seed in March Madness

With the win over Oklahoma State, Texas punched its NCAA tournament ticket, getting in as champions of the Big 12. The Longhorns will now wait, along with the rest of college basketball fans, to see who they will face in the first round of the tournament.

The Selection Sunday show is set to air Sunday evening at 6 p.m. ET on CBS.
