The Duke Blue Devils won’t be featured in this year’s NCAA tournament for the first time in 25 years and Twitter is having a field day with that fact.

The Duke Blue Devils basketball program woke up on Selection Sunday with just the slightest chance of still making this year’s NCAA tournament. Well, they wouldn’t get in on merit alone, but would instead need to be one of the backup teams that got in if a team selected can’t play due to COVID.

Teams in the NCAA Tournament have to notify the NCAA by 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday if they cannot meet the required COVID-19 medical and testing protocols, but as of right now, Duke will not be playing in the NCAA tournament this year.
