Warriors: Klay Thompson gives estimated return date from Achilles injury
In what has been an interesting week for the Golden State Warriors, Dub Nation may have just gotten some great news regarding Klay Thompson’s return.
This season hasn’t been reminiscent of seasons past for the Golden State Warriors. They are currently 19-19 and seem to be playing a very uninspired brand of basketball as of late. Stephen Curry has been playing out of his mind for the better part of this season and had Golden State in the playoff picture until recently. The organization also identified the individual responsible for making racist comments toward NBA veteran Jeremy Lin in their G League investigation.
The Dubs are on a four-game losing streak and need to figure things out if they’re going to make the playoffs this season. With the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets all up next on the schedule, things don’t look like they’ll be getting any easier much sooner.
As they continue to try to nurse themselves back to strength, Golden State has quite possibly gotten the best news they have all year about Klay Thompson.
Klay Thompson gives an update on his possible return to the Warriors
It’s no secret that the Warriors are a different team without Klay Thomson. The team has struggled to find its identity this season but is still hoping to remain competitive in the West.
On Sunday, Thompson spoke to Warriors and NBC reporter Kendra Andrews about his injury and provided an estimated return date.
While the Dubs shouldn’t give up on this season just yet, this update from Thompson certainly has us all looking forward to next year. Golden State sits 1.5 games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the final Western Conference playoff spot, though they are currently in a play-in spot.
