The San Fransisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly battling to win over eight-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Williams.

The San Fransisco 49ers are reportedly all-in on retaining offensive tackle Trent Williams during this year’s free agency period. The eight-time Pro Bowler has been on vacation while most of the other free-agency moves have been coming in. Now, he’s apparently back to business and ready to decide which team he’ll be spending his future with.

San Francisco traded for Williams last year during the NFL draft and he surely did not disappoint. Williams had an incredible season and is a high-value piece if he were to be moved this offseason.

The Niners are reportedly interested in keeping Williams around to protect Jimmy Garappolo. According to John Lund of KNBR, colleague Greg Papa reports that they have a four-year, $80 million deal on the table for the tackle.

Chiefs are reportedly looking to steal Trent Williams from the 49ers

San Fransisco will have to hope Williams wants to be back in The Bay. The Kansas City Chiefs are in the market for more protection for Patrick Mahomes and may have a real shot at stealing him.

The Niners are, however, adamant about keeping Williams on their roster.

Williams hasn’t agreed to terms with another team yet and he could quite possibly be giving the 49ers a chance to either match another offer or pay him what he’s worth.

It looks like this situation will come down to Williams’ preference and the amount of guaranteed money he can get. He turns 33 years old in July but obviously still has a few years of great football left in him.
