The New Orleans Saints shared a touching video of quarterback Drew Brees officially saying goodbye to the city and his fans.

As exciting as all the moves in free agency have been, we can’t forget about the guys who have also made headlines in announcing their retirements. No name has been bigger than Drew Brees, who announced he’s calling it a career in an emotional Instagram video over the weekend.

So, how was the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback going to follow that up? Surely nothing could top that. Well, leave it to Brees to do just that, as the signal-caller said goodbye to New Orleans Saints fans everywhere with an incredible video.

Drew Brees’ goodbye to New Orleans Saints fans is nothing short of perfect

If you’re a New Orleans fan, we don’t blame you whatsoever if you shed a tear or two. Goodness, that video could not have been put together any better. Between the music, throwback clips and everything else, it just shows how much the team and city has meant to Brees.

After spending the first five years of his careers with the Chargers, Brees spent the last 15 campaigns with New Orleans, highlighted, of course, by helping the team take down the Indianapolis Colts to win the Super Bowl in 2010.

Now, Brees is looking forward to the next chapter of his career, as he’ll spend much more time with his family. He’ll also be busy during the football season, as he’s agreed to join the team over at NBC Sports as a studio analyst. As much as everyone will miss watching Brees suit up every Sunday, he won’t be too far from the game.

And while it will be weird no longer seeing him start for the Saints, he’ll never have to pay for a drink in New Orleans again. Brees is a living legend, and Saints supporters will always have a special place in their hearts for him.
