Barack Obama reveals his March Madness bracket (and it’s mostly chalk)

Former President Barack Obama has revealed his March Madness bracket picks for the NCAA Tournament.

He’s not in office any longer but the tradition of Barack Obama filling out his March Madness bracket remains strong. The former president revealed his picks for the NCAA Tournament on the eve of the start of the NCAA Tournament. If you have procrastinated to fill yours out, you can now rely on Obama’s picks to help influence your picks — whether you agree or disagree with the former Commander-in-Chief.

While some tend to get upset-heavy with their March Madness picks, and it’s not an entirely wrong strategy, especially in the first round and for the 5 vs. 12 matchups, Obama is mostly chalk.

Obama’s Final Four picks are all No. 1 seeds, so he doesn’t have any Cinderella Stories making it all the way to the first weekend in April.

Obama has Gonzaga, Michigan, Illinois and Baylor in his Final Four with Gonzaga edging Illinois in the national championship game.

While the Final Four is chalk and the national title game is the top two teams from the last AP Top 25, Obama does have some interesting upset picks earlier in the bracket.

Among the teams he has pulling off an upset include, Ohio, UC-Santa Barbara, Georgetown, Michigan State, Maryland, Rutgers and Virginia Tech.

Obama also filled out his women’s bracket and has Baylor, Maryland (upsetting South Carolina), Stanford and NC State in his Final Four with Baylor cutting down the nets over Stanford.
