Baker Mayfield is very happy to have Rashard Higgins back on the Cleveland Browns.

Though Rashard Higgins was testing the NFL free agency waters for the second time in as many years, the Cleveland Browns wide receiver decided to come back to the only pro team he has ever played for on a new one-year deal. His quarterback Baker Mayfield was thrilled he decided to stay.

Mayfield tweeted at Higgins on Wednesday after the wide receiver put pen to paper, “What are we doing, Hig?!?!” Moments later, Higgins responded with “Let’s run it back!”

Cleveland is coming off its first trip to the AFC playoffs since 2002 and its first postseason win since the mid-1990s. The Browns are poised to remain in the playoff mix in 2021 with much of their strong roster returning.

Baker Mayfield and Rashard Higgins are coming off their best NFL seasons

Mayfield answered the bell in 2020 when people doubted if he could be a franchise quarterback. As the season progressed, he got even more comfortable in Kevin Stefanski’s offense, playing his best brand of football since winning the 2017 Heisman Trophy with the Oklahoma Sooners. As for Higgins, he had 37 receptions for 599 yards and four receiving touchdowns in 13 games played.

Overall, the Browns face lofty expectations this year. They have the talent to win their division for the first time in over 30 years. While taking the Browns to the Super Bowl is a bit of a reach at this point, Cleveland needs to win around 11 games, contend for a division crown and try to win multiple playoff games. With Higgins back in the mix, it helps out Mayfield and the receiving corps.

If Higgins, Mayfield and the rest of the Browns want to run it back, let’s see if they are up for it.
