Oh, he hated it, but Auburn basketball legend Charles Barkley picked the Alabama basketball team to reach 2021 Final Four in Indianapolis.

Ahead of the 2021 NCAA Tournament, we experienced the epitome of March Madness by way of Charles Barkley.

The noted Auburn basketball alum, against his better judgment, picked the dreaded Alabama basketball team to be one of four teams to reach the Final Four in Indianapolis. Along with the Crimson Tide, Barkley picked the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs, the Big 12 champion Baylor Bears and the American Athletic Conference standout Houston Cougars.

But Barkley picking Alabama. … I mean, come on!

Hell has frozen over, as Charles Barkley picked Alabama to make the Final Four

While Barkley picking Alabama is not all that crazy to begin with, that cannot sit well with War Eagle Nation. Alabama did win the SEC on the hardwood, both in the regular season and the conference championship up in Nashville. Though the Crimson Tide are not expected to come out of their region, Barkley’s bold statement might be speaking it into existence. You never know?

Ultimately, this is Alabama’s best season in a generation and the Crimson Tide stands a great possibility at advancing deep into the tournament. Again, it may kill Barkley to see Alabama have this type of success on the hardwood, but he does understand how talented Nate Oats’ team this year. They may not win it all, but if any southeastern team can get to the Final Four, it is Alabama.

Barkley going out on a limb and saying Alabama will make the Final Four is very on-brand for him.
