Some good news has arrived for baseball fans in New York, with the Yankees and Mets announcing they’ll have fans in the stands to start the 2021 campaign. 

With Major League Baseball’s Opening Day right around the corner, New York Yankees and New York Mets fans can’t wait for the new season to get underway. There will be high expectations for both ball clubs. Fortunately, folks in New York will be able to see their teams compete live.

On Thursday, it’s been announced by both teams that they’ll be able to host fans at a limited capacity to start the season, with 20 percent attendance allowed to start things off.

After both Yankee Stadium and Citi Field were without fans last season, this really is some uplifting news for everyone in all five New York City boroughs. Few things make people more excited than stopping by a bodega, picking up some snacks, hopping on the subway and making their way to either ballpark.

Come early April, this will once again be an option for fans who miss watching either the Yankees or Mets.

For the Yankees, the team is hoping to take down the Tampa Bay Rays this season and reclaim the AL East title. At the same time, Aaron Boone’s squad is built to potentially go on a deep postseason run thanks to their star power in the lineup and the studs in the starting rotation.

Meanwhile for the Mets, the offseason trade for Francisco Lindor has fired up everyone in Queens, as the team is ready to make some serious noise in the NL East. Once both teams take the field, they can expect thousands of fans to cheer them on the only way they know how: with extreme passion.
