Of course, LeBron James thinks he should have more than four NBA MVP awards at this point of his illustrious, first-ballot, hall-of-fame career. Then again, most players of his caliber probably feel the same way he does about the whole thing.

LeBron James has earned four NBA championship rings, but he believes he has earned more than four NBA MVP awards.

James is coming off his fourth championship and his Los Angeles Lakers are expected to repeat this summer to make it five for him. While nobody can deny his triumphs and successes in the NBA Finals, oftentimes this year’s flavor of the month will take the MVP award away from him. Like Michael Jordan before him, James could have been named NBA MVP every year in his prime.

LeBron James has not been named NBA MVP since he played for the Miami Heat

For the better part of the decade, there has always been someone else there to take away James’ MVP award. Whether it has been Stephen Curry unanimously, Russell Westbrook averaging a triple-double or Giannis Antetokounmpo going back to back in 2019 and 2020, James has remained in the MVP conversation well into his mid-30s just about every single season.

While it up for debate how many MVP awards James should have at this point, one thing is for certain: He should have way more than four. Though it is a regular-season award, James has outshined several of the winners in his many trips to the NBA Finals in his illustrious career. If you were to ask someone how many NBA MVPs James has, they would say he has more than four.

For as transcendent of a player he is, James should have somewhere around six MVP awards.
