Charles Barkley is falling out of favor with the Auburn Tigers. Here he is shouting “Roll Tide!” as Nate Oats’ Alabama basketball team beat the Iona Gaels to advance to the Round of 32.

Only a knucklehead like Charles Barkley would shout “Roll Tide!” at the top of his lungs on TV.

Yes, that is exactly what happened with the noted Auburn basketball legend. Barkley infamously picked the Alabama Crimson Tide to reach the Final Four before the 2021 NCAA Tournament began in Indianapolis. While Alabama basketball fans are happy to have moved on past the Iona Gaels on Saturday afternoon, War Eagle Nation is wondering what on earth is up with Chuck.

Charles Barkley may no longer be welcomed down on The Plains after this

Look, you cannot cheer for the rival team in the Yellowhammer State. It’s like the Hatfields and McCoys except that it just means more, dammit. The Montagues and the Capulets had nothing on what goes down in the Iron Bowl every Thanksgiving weekend. You don’t see Robert Horry shouting “War Eagle” at the top of his lungs while wearing his seven NBA championship rings.

While everybody knows the SEC is the best conference at everything, you are never going to see me wave orange and blue pom-poms to cheer on the Tigers, the Gators or any of that nonsense. It does not matter if I have any amount of money on that game. I. Will. Not. Do. It. Well, Barkley is a better man than me. He is willing to let his alma mater turn on him faster than a kid portal-ing.

If Alabama make it to the Final Four, it will be more awkward than drafting Allen Iverson first.
