The Eagles aren’t convinced Jalen Hurts is their franchise quarterback. Look for them to add their signal-caller of the future in Round 1 of NFL Draft.

Trading Carson Wentz was just the first step of what is expected to be a complete offseason roster overhaul in Philadelphia. This franchise needs to nail each of their draft picks if they want to be playoff contenders in 2021.

The first question officials in Philadelphia must answer is whether or not they trust Jalen Hurts to be their franchise quarterback of the present and future. He showed signs of being a quality starter down the stretch of his rookie campaign, but he didn’t do enough to lock himself in as the team’s unquestioned starter.

Quarterback isn’t the only place on offense where the Eagles need help. They desperately need to add skilled playmakers to help make their offense hum. The lack of quality at wide receiver is shocking. Finding a potential replacement for Zach Ertz could also be on the team’s agenda.

The player the Eagles choose with the No. 6 overall pick is going to set the tone for the rest of their draft. Trust Philadelphia to take a big swing with the following selection.

Quarterback. North Dakota State. player. 54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Trey Lance. 6

The Eagles need to lean into the reality that they need to rebuild. Their first priority has to be finding the right quarterback to rely on for the next decade. There’s an outside shot Hurts can be that guy, but Philadelphia would be smart to double down.

Lance would give their offense a much different option to consider. He’s a much bigger, stronger quarterback than Hurts will ever be. His combination of big arm and above-average mobility makes him a potential star. The Eagles can’t go anywhere without a star quarterback. Drafting Lance gives them two chances to secure that kind of offensive talisman.
