The Eagles should continue their offensive overhaul in Round 2. Grabbing a young wide receiver to build around is the next logical step in the teamās evolution. Marshall flew under the radar in 2020 due to LSUās team struggles, but heās a dynamic pro prospect.
He showcased the ability to be productive from the slot and on the outside in college, but the Eagles should leave him on the boundary due to his 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame. Marshall doesnāt have elite speed, but he does run his routes at above-average pace. That allows him to generate quality separation against all manners of opposing cornerbacks.
Critics of his game will point to his lack of blocking or occasional drop as a reason why he should drop into the middle rounds. That ignores the fact that Marshall is just 20 years of age. Heās got more development ahead of him than most of his peers in this draft class.
Philadelphia might opt for a more polished player in Round 2, but Marshall has as much star potential as anyone who is going to be on the board at 37. Pairing him with Lance would give Eagles fans something to be excited about moving forward.
