Chiefs hoping to steal veteran cornerback from the 49ers
The Kansas City Chiefs have been busy this offseason and will look to keep things going by potentially signing cornerback K’Waun Williams.
In what’s been an extremely busy offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs, general manager Brett Veach isn’t even close to done making moves for the team. Come early next week, Veach is hoping to add some help for the secondary.
According to NJ.com’s Mike Kaye, the Chiefs will be bringing in veteran cornerback K’Waun Williams for a visit. While the San Francisco 49ers are hopeful he’ll return, and the Jets are also showing interest, it looks like the Chiefs are ready to try and swoop in to land him.
Veteran cornerback K’Waun Williams will be visiting with the Chiefs on Tuesday
Per Kaye, Williams’ visit with the Chiefs is all set for Tuesday. Shortly after that, we could find out whether or not he’ll be taking his talents from the NFC West to the AFC West. With that being said, the New York Jets are also a team to watch here, as they’ve also made an impact on the defensive back.
For the Chiefs, they’ll of course be able to sell Williams on the fact that he’d be able to compete for a Super Bowl next season if he were to sign with Kansas City. With the Jets? Not so much. New York has been a total mess for a while now, but the opposite is the case for KC.
Kansas City is the favorite to win the Super Bowl next year. They of course won it all two years ago and then nearly repeated as champs this past season, falling to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers with the Lombardi Trophy on the line. Stay tuned to see if Veach can convince Williams to sign on the dotted line.
