2021 NFL Mock Draft: Najee Harris heads west to join a Super Bowl contender
By Brad Weiss
The 2021 NFL Draft is so close we can feel it, and in our latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft, the Arizona Cardinals get Kyler Murray another weapon.
The 2021 NFL Draft will take place in five weeks, and we recently learned that media and fans, along with a few prospects will be able to attend. That is huge considering where this world was a year ago for the 2020 NFL Draft when Roger Goodell was falling asleep in his basement announcing picks.
As we inch closer to round one, let us take a look at our latest 2021 NFL Mock Draft.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off the 2021 NFL Draft and will surprise nobody by selecting Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. This is a kid who many believe is the best quarterback prospect we have seen in some time, and he will be expected to change the fortunes of this franchise in a hurry.
He is going to have help, as Urban Meyer has done a nice job adding talent to the roster via free agency, but he is the big get this offseason. In Lawrence, the Jaguars have their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future, and hopefully, he can live up to the hype.
The New York Jets have done a nice job through the first wave of free agency adding talent, including a solid edge rusher in Carl Lawson on defense, and a dynamic wideout on offense in Corey Davis. Overall, Joe Douglas certainly looks like he knows what he is doing, now he just needs to figure out the quarterback spot.
As we inch closer to the 2021 NFL Draft, all signs point to the Jets moving on from Sam Darnold, a former No. 3 overall pick. With pick No. 2, Douglas brings in his own top-5 quarterback in Zach Wilson, giving the Jets a new face of the franchise moving forward.
The Miami Dolphins have a serious decision to make at pick No. 3 overall, as they could trade it away to the Houston Texans for Deshaun Watson. If they stay pat, they have to address the wide receiver spot, as staying here means they are sticking with Tua Tagovailoa, and they need to give him more weapons.
While most mock drafts have DeVonta Smith as the first wideout off the board, and rightfully so, the Dolphins decide to instead roll with LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase here. Chase sat out this past season due to COVID-19, and he should be more than ready to embark on the next step in his football journey with the Dolphins.
