Braves set plan to reach 100 percent fan capacity this season

The Atlanta Braves are expecting full-capacity crowds at Truist Park by June ahead of the 2021 MLB All-Star Game. This is ambitious, but the Braves organization does seem to have a plan in place.

By midway through the 2021 MLB season, the Atlanta Braves are expecting to be able to pack the house at Truist Park.

Braves president and chief executive officer Mike Plant has told the Cobb Board of Commissioners that the 2021 MLB All-Star Game in Truist Park will be in front of a full-capacity crowd. Atlanta will start the year at one-third capacity in April, moving it up to 50 percent capacity in May and then doing the unthinkable and going to full capacity in June. The 2021 MLB All-Star Game is on July 13.

The Atlanta Braves are ambitious, but do have a solid plan in place here

Not only did baseball not have an All-Star Game last year, but only a handful of postseason games were played in front of any spectators. Fans have been able to attend Spring Training games this late winter and early spring. Georgia has been one of the least restrictive states in the country in the age of the coronavirus. With the team expected to contend, the Braves want to capitalize here.

By starting out with one-third capacity, the Braves organization can learn what works and what does not in their April home games. They will be able to learn from them and apply these lessons to May, June and July homestands. With more and more people getting the COVID-19 vaccine, there is reason to be optimistic about the 2021 MLB All-Star Game to be at full capacity in July.

Expect the Braves organization to adjust accordingly in the coming days, weeks and months.
