Bears fans are miserable after team’s latest Andy Dalton tweet
The Chicago Bears have announced Andy Dalton as the team’s starter for 2021 and fans couldn’t be less happy about it.
It’s going to be the Andy Dalton show for the Chicago Bears in 2021. On Wednesday, the team seemingly announced that Dalton will be the team’s starter, as they took to Twitter and gave him the desired QB1 title.
This all but puts to bed any hope Bears fans had there might be one last chance to potentially trade for quarterback Russell Wilson. As you might imagine, the Chicago faithful aren’t happy one bit, and they made that much clear.
Bears fans are miserable knowing that Andy Dalton will be the team’s starter in 2021
After Chicago signed Dalton to a one-year, $10 million contract, the assumption was that he’d indeed enter the year as the go-to guy for head coach Matt Nagy. Dalton took over as the starter for the Cowboys last season when Dak Prescott went down injured and he had his fair share of ups and down throughout the campaign.
Now, he’ll be looked at to try and power the Chicago offense, one that left plenty to be desired in ’20 with Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles both starting games. From the looks of tweets from upset Bears fans, they were hoping Dalton wouldn’t be the answer.

There’s no denying Dalton has plenty of experience, as he’s been in the league since 2011 and has thrown for more than 33,000 yards. At the same time, he’s just not the quarterback who can help this team get over the top and compete for a Super Bowl. Do you think Dalton is supposed to instill fear in Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers? No chance.
Come Week 1, Dalton will look to silence all of his haters. Right now, though, folks outside Soldier Field are probably praying to the football Gods that Dalton won’t start. Sorry, that’s going to be the case.
