1. Aaron Robinson

Robinson is getting classified strictly as a slot corner by some teams, but the Saints should see that he has the ability to play outside as well. Just because he played the majority of his snaps at UCF on the inside doesn’t mean that’s where his professional future lies.

Robinson gets high marks from scouts because he showed the ability to play at a high level in man and zone concepts at UCF. His transition to life in the NFL should be relatively smooth as a result. Robinson is a corner who can help a good team right away. That should appeal to the Saints.

The Saints will value him highly even if he does end up in the slot. They place more responsibility on their third corners than almost any other defense in the league. Payton and his staff understand how beneficial stopping perimeter passing attacks can be.

Robinson may not have the star potential New Orleans would like to land in Round 1, but he’s got a high floor as a prospect. That should be enough to convince the Saints to roll the dice on him at No. 28.
