There are three NBA buyout targets in particular for contending teams to consider ahead of the postseason.

The NBA buyout market is in full swing now that the trade deadline has passed. Veteran players around the league were either moved, or their trade value was so low a buyout became the next course of action.

Buyouts are already happening, and others should come shortly. So far there are three top options that NBA contenders should be considering as the playoffs approach.

3. Avery Bradley

Avery Bradley has had a rough 2020-21 season. First came a bout with COVID-19. Next up was a calf injury.

Bradley signed with the Miami Heat this past offseason and played in a total of 10 games before being dealt to the Houston Rockets this week. He has not played in a game since Feb. 3.

The Rockets have no reason to keep Bradley around at this point. He is on an expiring deal, hasn’t played in nearly two months and is not a young player who needs the minutes on a 12-31 team.

The veteran spent last season with the Los Angeles Lakers before opting out of the restart. He was a regular starter until the season shutdown and averaged 8.6 points per game. Given he is healthy again, the 30-year-old is a prime buyout target because of his experience on top-tier teams.
