2. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers stood pat at the trade deadline, but that doesn’t mean their roster is just fine as is. That’s especially true with no timetable for Anthony Davis’ return and LeBron James still out for another 3-5 weeks. The Lakers need to do everything in their power to avoid plummeting down the standings during the prolonged absence of their two superstars.

For a team in need of reinforcements that hasn’t really enjoyed the Marc Gasol experience thus far, Dieng could help strengthen that back line. He’s got 3-point range, can protect the rim and will snag enough rebounds to warrant his limited minutes off the bench.

Sure, the Lakers already have Gasol and Montrezl Harrell, so when AD comes back, Dieng’s minutes would probably only come in a pinch. But LA desperately needs help right now, and Gorgui Dieng feels like a great fit at a minimum price.
