The Miami Dolphins are wheeling and dealing ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, poised to be an absolute juggernaut in the AFC with all of this draft capital coming in.
No team is better positioned to win the next few NFL Drafts than the Miami Dolphins.
Miami traded away the No. 3 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for No. 12, a 2021 third-round compensatory pick (from Robert Saleh going to the New York Jets), and first-round picks in ’22 and ’23. Shortly after, Miami traded this year’s No. 12 pick and a ’22 first-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for this year’s No. 6 overall pick. What is up with Miami?

Blockbuster deal with massive ramifications for years to come.
The Eagles have traded the 6th pick in the draft to Miami for 12 and a 2022 first-rounder.

The Miami Dolphins are ready to become a challenger in the AFC.
Miami had three first-round picks from a season ago. The Dolphins have two this year, one in 2022 and two in 2023. While they looked to a tanking team in 2019, Miami went 5-11 and still ended up with the No. 5 overall pick. The Dolphins used that top-five selection to take Alabama football star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. He faces huge pressure to become the next Dan Marino.
Overall, the Dolphins are well on their way towards challenging the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East. As long as Tagovailoa or whoever they end up rolling with at quarterback hits, the Dolphins should emerge as one of the very best teams in the AFC by the middle of the decade. You have to tip your cap to the job general manager Chris Grier is doing these days. His team is now set up for success.
There is no reason to believe the Dolphins are done wheeling and dealing ahead of the NFL Draft.
