Cardinals: St. Louis announces complete Opening Day roster

The St. Louis Cardinals revealed their complete Opening Day roster on Sunday ahead of their game against the Cincinnati Reds.

The St. Louis Cardinals are getting ready for what is expected to be a huge season. After being eliminated by the San Diego Padres in the Wild Card Round, the Cardinals decided to push all their chips to the center of the table by acquiring star third baseman Nolan Arenado from the Colorado Rockies.

With spring training just about wrapping up, the Cardinals unveiled their full roster for their Opening Day contest against the rival Cincinnati Reds. On Sunday, the Cardinals announced that they have optioned pitcher Kodi Whitley and outfielder Lane Thomas to minor league camp.

While the Cardinals did announce who did make the roster, they did make four additions to the injured list, including three right-handed pitchers. Miles Mikolas is currently dealing with a right shoulder injury, Kwang Hyun Kim is sidelined with a back injury and Dakota Johnson is still recovering from Tommy John surgery from last September. Outfielder Harrison Bader was also added to the list due to a forearm strain that could sideline him until May.
