Pittsburgh Steelers fans are fired up over James Conner’s latest Twitter post, which they believe has something to do with his free agency.

While we’ve seen several big names find new homes in free agency, there’s still a decent amount of guys looking to finalize thing for their 2021 campaigns. The list includes running back James Conner, who has spent the past four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, he’s still unsigned and fans are waiting to find out what’s to come. Per his latest Twitter post, could a return to Pittsburgh potentially be in the cards for him?

Steelers fans were pumped, too.

Everyone in Pittsburgh is waiting to see if James Conner will return to the Steelers

So, what exactly is Conner trying to tell us here? If you ask Steelers supporters, they feel like he’s dropping a hint at where he may end up playing next season. Pittsburgh has already made moves to bring back Ben Roethlisberger, JuJu Smith-Schuster and others. Could Conner also end up joining the party?

As of now, things are completely up in the air regarding his free agency. Last season, he finished the regular season rushing for 721 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games, making 11 starts. Over his four years with the organization, the 6-foot-1, 230-pounder has rushed for more than 2,300 yards and 22 touchdowns.

However, injuries have haunted Conner and his production has dipped at times. If Pittsburgh were to bring him back, they likely wouldn’t be ready to put the kind of offer on the table he’d be hoping for. But, they could end up bringing him back on a one-year, prove-it kind of a contract.

In the coming weeks, we could learn where Conner will be making plays this fall. If he doesn’t end up back at Heinz Field, you better believe several other teams will come calling trying to land his services.

Next. Art Rooney sounds like he wants the Steelers to draft a top running back. dark
