6. player. 64. . Forward. Detroit Pistons. Franz Wagner

Wagner is probably not a star and given that the rebuilding Pistons probably don’t have anyone else on their roster who is headed on that trajectory, they may be more interested in a riskier pick with more potential upside. But he’s the kind of player with an extremely high floor as a complementary piece who could work with a variety of centerpieces down the road.

Wagner is an excellent shooter who can handle some creation responsibilities from the wing, with the flexibility to play in multiple roles depending on his teammates and the opponents. His excellent awareness and instincts help on defense as well where he should be a very good team defender, comfortable with a variety of matchups and helping everyone else play at their best.

In his flexibility and high-floor, Wagner is similar to Killian Hayes and, with Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, Jerami Grant they have a very solid core of high-level complementary pieces just waiting for a star to come in and push them towards contention.
