Oklahoma City Thunder. Jalen Johnson. 9. player. 149. . Forward

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort in place, the Thunder already have a foundation to build on. And with about a billion extra draft picks over the next few years, they’ll get plenty of bites at the apple as they look for additional stars to add to them. That gives them the flexibility to try out players with unconventional skill sets — they don’t need their offensive engine because they already have SGA, and they don’t need every single pick to hit.

Johnson has the body and athleticism to play the 4 full-time but right now he’s not much of a shooter. He’s a strong passer and comfortable with the ball in his hands though, particularly in the open-court, and looks very interesting as a grab-and-go threat in transition. He’s also a good on- and off-ball defender with versatility, which gives the Thunder the options to try him in a variety of looks.

Johnson will have to get much better as a shooter and scorer to really be a star, but his basic skill set could really help the Thunder and make for a very fun combination Gilgeous-Alexander.
