Steelers fans will love Cam Sutton’s mentality heading into make-or-break season
Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cam Sutton is fired up for the new season to arrive and is ready to kick things into a new gear come next fall.
The 2020 season didn’t go as planned for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as the team ended up falling to the Cleveland Browns in the AFC Wild Card Round. While there was speculation Ben Roethlisberger would end up retiring, he’s back for at least one more go.
Roethlisberger will of course man the offense, with the defense also ready to make some noise come next campaign. Cornerback Cam Sutton knows there will be pressure on the unit, and he’s jacked up for Week 1 to arrive so he can showcase his skills.
Cornerback Cam Sutton is ready for Week 1 to arrive to help out the Pittsburgh Steelers
Sutton signed a two-year, $9 million contract with Pittsburgh this offseason, as he’s ready to make even more of an impact on the team moving forward. Last campaign, Sutton appeared in every game for Pittsburgh, making six starts. He finished the year with 30 tackles, one sack and one interception.
Sutton arrived in Pittsburgh in 2017, appearing in 52 games and making eight starts since. Now that he’s back on his two-year deal, though, the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder is expected to be a go-to option at cornerback for the team in 2021, as he’ll look to live up to his new contract.
For Pittsburgh as a whole, the team is ready to try and do everything possible to try and get to one last Super Bowl with Roethlisberger back with the team. With JuJu Smith-Schuster also back in the fold, the weapons are there to score plenty of points. We’ll see if the defense will be able to be strong once again, with Sutton all set to make big plays in primetime situations.
