J.D. Martinez’s scorching start continues with walkoff double (Video)

Boston Red Sox slugger J.D. Martinez hit a walkoff double past the outstretched glove of Randy Arozarena.
The Tampa Bay Rays outfielder wasn’t able to make another superman-esque catch on Tuesday night. In the bottom of the tenth, down a run with two base-runners on, the veteran Martinez delivered in a big way, hitting a double to send Red Sox fans home happy.
Those in attendance at Fenway Park were witnesses to a highlight-reel night, with Franchy Cordero robbing the monster of another dent, and Christian Vazquez sending the game to extras with a solo shot.
Martinez’s double, however, was the deciding factor in the end.
Red Sox: Boston bounces back after rough start to season
The Red Sox lost the first three games of the season to the Baltimore Orioles. No offense meant to the O’s, but Boston baseball fans expected better from this team after they brought back Alex Cora in the offseason.
Two wins against the AL pennant holders serves as another reminder that this is a long season, despite the initial panic of an opening sweep.
Martinez, in particular, has gotten off to a scorching hot start to the year. After Tuesday, he’s hitting .476 with a .522 OBP. Not bad at all.
