Braves superstar Ronald Acuña gave Max Scherzer quite the welcome to the 2021 campaign, sending his first pitch of the season to the moon.

After a long wait due to COVID-19 complications, the Washington Nationals finally were able to take the field on Tuesday to begin their 2021 campaign. Well, things could not have gotten off to a worse start for the club and superstar pitcher Max Scherzer.

With the very first pitch of the season, Scherzer delivered a meatball parm right down the middle to Ronald Acuña. Scherzer should know by now that the Braves standout is simply too good for this to happen, as Acuña surely made him pay.

What in the world was Scherzer thinking? He tossed a 94 MPH fastball right down main street. Of course Acuña was going to send that delivery out of the park. He’s a tremendous talent and will always make pitchers look foolish with those kind of tosses.

For Atlanta, they’ve indeed gotten off to a hot start against Washington, as the team is hoping to prevent its record from falling to 0-4. So far, so good for the Braves.
