Washington Football Team full 2021 NFL mock draft
Washington finished with the No.2 pass defense last season, only behind an All-Pro led unit in Los Angeles. Still, the free safety role was arguably the weakest point. Is DeShazor Everett a long-term option?
Cisco has the chance to be a ball-hawking safety in Washington’s system. Though there are several flaws in his main coverage abilities, he did log 13 interceptions during his time with the Orange. Quick to react and overall good speed, Cisco isn’t afraid to play the run as well.
This is a very boom-or-bust type player, but Washington could afford to add another safety.
The last time fans saw Wade, he was getting torched by Alabama players in the National Championship. However, one game shouldn’t define the upside the former Buckeye showed in coverage, specifically in the nickel formation.
Del Rio will decide if the team will move him to safety or keep him in the nickel, but both positions could use competition for 2021 to improve the middle of the field coverage. Wade also should be effective as a gunner on special teams.
