Charles Barkley goes on epic rant: ‘The Clippers have always sucked’
By Scott Rogust
Even though the LA Clippers are on a four-game winning streak, ‘Inside the NBA’ analyst Charles Barkley is not buying them as contenders.
The LA Clippers had a huge 113-103 win over the second-place Phoenix Suns on Thursday. As of this writing (following their win over the Houston Rockets on Friday), the Clippers are in third place in the Western Conference and remain just four games behind the Utah Jazz for first. Despite that, they still have not made a believer out of Hall-of-Famer and Inside the NBA analyst Charles Barkley.
Following the huge victory over the Suns, the TNT crew decided to show some tweets from Clippers fans demanding Barkley apologize for not buying into their NBA title chances. That was when Barkley said that “the Clippers have always sucked” through the various phases of his life.
Clippers: Charles Barkley not buying in to Los Angeles’ NBA title chances
You heard that correctly. Barkley says that the Clippers have always been bad in his eyes, whether he was skinny, fat, rich, poor, old and in the Hall of Fame. My goodness, that was an evisceration by the popular Inside the NBA personality.
The Clippers have been on a roll as of late, as their victory over the Rockets extended their winning streak to four games. But their victory over the Suns was truly special.
Paul George, usually the brunt of all jokes for his occasional disappearing acts, was on fire in Phoenix. He scored a team-high 33 points while shooting12-of-19 from the field, and he also tallied 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Meanwhile, Kawhi Leonard recorded 27 points (10-for-20 from field, 4-for-4 on free throws), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Oh, and he pulled off a vicious dunk on Suns center Deandre Ayton that set social media ablaze.
We are not sure if the Clippers are going to sell Barkley with a victory over the lowly Detroit Pistons on Sunday, but the only way they can do so is by winning their first NBA title in franchise history this summer.
