South Carolina football star Jaycee Horn is cool with everybody making up their 40 times.

When you are as talented as cornerback Jaycee Horn coming out of the South Carolina football program, you could care less about other draft-eligible prospects trying to cut corners on their 40 times.

Horn is projected to go in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He starred for Will Muschamp in Columbia and is the son of New Orleans Saints legendary wide receiver Joe Horn. Once Muschamp was fired before the end of the season, Horn decided to opt out the rest of the way rather than play for interim head coach Mike Bobo. Doing so has not negatively impacted his draft stock at all.

With everybody claiming to run a 4.3 40 these days, Horn will take his 4.4 40 in stride, knowing that is what he probably would have run had there been a normal NFL Scouting Combine up in Indianapolis this past February. In the meantime, Horn is gearing up for his career in professional football. If he goes to the right team, he has a chance to live up to the hype of his star father Joe.

South Carolina football: What NFL team will end up drafting Jaycee Horn?

After three years at South Carolina, Horn is a lock to go in the first round. While he does not project as the first cornerback to come off the board, he is likely to go somewhere in the teens. Horn could go as high to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 10 and probably will not fall any further than the Chicago Bears picking at No. 20. What teams are in the mix to take Horn in the teens in this spring’s draft?

There are four teams to keep an eye when it comes to drafting Horn out of South Carolina besides Dallas and Chicago: The Philadelphia Eagles picking at No. 12, the Los Angeles Chargers picking at No. 13, the Minnesota Vikings picking at No. 14 and the Arizona Cardinals picking at No. 16. The consensus has Horn slated to go to the Cardinals with the No. 16 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

People straight up lying about their 40 times is not going to hurt Horn’s NFL Draft status at all.
