Cornerback is a position that you can never have too many of. For the Bears, they have far too less. Jaylon Johnson was a surprise starter, but running mate Kyle Fuller was released this offseason. Let’s also be real, Desmond Trufant is a place holder for 2021.

Chicago needs an aggressive player fits what new defensive coordinator Sean Desai will be looking for in coverage. The good news is there’s loads a mid to late-round talent that actually have starting-caliber qualities.

Much like Trey Lance, Rochell is the name that won’t be mentioned enough due to the cancelation of the FCS fall season. The 6-foot-1 defender is physical when asked to play at the line of scrimmage, but he also can play well in off-ball sets. For his career, he’s recorded 12 interceptions.

The tape speaks volume, but so does the overall size and agility speaks more. If Rochell falls this far, this is the diamond in the rough Chicago will need to pair alongside Johnson.
