There’s a party going on in Queens! That’s because the New York Mets have just taken Game 1 of their double-header with the Philadelphia Phillies in epic fashion. If you were hoping for a walk-off in this one, that’s what you’ve received thanks to Mets second baseman Johnathan Villar.
With the game tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Villar roped a single to left field to score the game-winning run. That’s your ballgame, Mets win.
