Packers fans will love Mel Kiper’s first-round pick in latest NFL Mock Draft
ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper thinks the Green Bay Packers could use their first-round pick on a wide receiver, which fans would surely be all for.
Could some wide receiver help finally be coming for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers? If you ask ESPN insider Mel Kiper, that most certainly could be the case in the NFL Draft that’s scheduled to arrive later this month.
In Kiper’s latest NFL Mock Draft, he’s got general manger Brian Gutekunst selecting standout Minnesota wide receiver Rashod Bateman with the No. 29 overall pick. It goes without saying, but this move would be massively celebrated outside Lambeau Field.
The Green Bay Packers using a first-round pick on a wide receiver would excite fans
In free agency, Green Bay supporters were hopeful that the team would be able to go out and land either Will Fuller, JuJu Smith-Schuster or TY Hilton. Green Bay went 0-for-3 there, as cap issues had an impact on the team’s negotiating abilities.
With that said, folks have been eyeing the NFL Draft as a way for Green Bay to add a weapon to the explosive offense. However, there’s still been plenty of fear after what happened in 2020. No one has forgotten about Gutekunst not using a single draft pick on a wideout. Him using the first-rounder on signal-caller Jordan Love also raised countless eyebrows.
This time around, Green Bay simply has to use the draft as a way to help out Rodgers in his pursuits of winning another Super Bowl. Bateman would be quite the addition. The Minnesota star checks in at 6-2, 210 pounds and has blazing speed. With his fantastic hands too, Rodgers would surely love getting him the pigskin.
Come the first round of the draft, Packers supporters sure would enjoy seeing Batemen get a call from Gutekunst with some big news. We’ll see if Kiper ends up being on the money here.
