Paris Saint-Germain face Bayern Munich at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, April 13. Here’s all the info you need to watch this Champions League match.
The second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal kicks off on Tuesday with Paris Saint-Germain hosting Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes. PSG enter the second leg with a commanding 3-2 lead. The three away goals will be key in determining which team advances. While Bayern will have to score at least three goals or win by two goals to continue the defense of their Champions League title.
Kylian Mbappe and Neymar were brilliant in the first leg. Mbappe scored twice while Neymar added two assists. The Parisians will rely on their duo to attack a vulnerable Bayern defense. Manager Mauricio Pochettino will have to make several changes to his lineup. Defenders Marquinhos and Abdou Diallo will miss the second leg after starting in the first leg. The loss of both players will leave PSG with holes defensive. While it is also unclear if Marco Verratti will be able to return for the second leg after missing the first leg with an injury.
Bayern manager Hansi Flick decided to rest the majority of his key starters over the weekend. The decision cost Bayern points as they drew with Union Berlin, allowing RB Leipzig to move two points closer in the Bundesliga title race. However, the decision could end up being beneficial in the second leg. Bayern had their chances in the first leg but could only convert two of them. Had Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry been available to play, the result likely would have been different. Unfortunately, for Bayern, neither player will be available to play in the second leg. While Leon Goretzka and Niklas Sule will miss the second leg after suffering injuries in the first leg.
Bayern will again rely on the combination of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, and Kingsley Coman to drive the attack. Defensively, Bayern will have to be a lot better. In the first leg, PSG were allowed too much space. Alphonso Davies will likely return to the starting XI at left-back but Flick will have to decide who to start center-back next to David Alaba.
