Red Sox: Alex Cora confident he’ll be cleared from COVID-19 protocol soon
Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora is waiting clearance to be able to manage Tuesday’s contest at Fenway Park.
Will Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora be able to be in the dugout on Tuesday for his team’s showdown with the Toronto Blue Jays? That’s what everyone is waiting to find out. Cora is still waiting for clearance from Major League Baseball to be able to do so.
Early on Tuesday, Cora hinted that he recorded a positive COVID-19 test, saying it didn’t go the way he wanted. Now, he’s waiting to see if further testing can show he indeed does not have the coronavirus and he can continue to manage his team.

Cora himself came out and added that he’s not sick. Rather, he’s just waiting to be given the green light. With the first pitch only a few hours away, it really is up in the air if the skipper will be able to man his post for Boston.
Fortunately for Cora, he’s not suffering any serious COVID-19 symptoms and he’s feeling all good. At the same time, the league wants to take every single precaution necessary to make sure the virus doesn’t spread, if Cora indeed does have it.
Only time will tell if Cora will be good to go. As for Boston as a whole, things are going quite smoothly for the club after they opened the season with three consecutive losses. Since then, Boston has gone 11-3 and sits in first place of the AL East standings. After the nightmare campaign the team had in 2020, fans sure love seeing the Red Sox balling out again, with the sluggers mashing homers left and right.
