Saints: Taysom Hill making major change in training to become better passer
Leading up to the 2021 season, New Orleans Saints quarterback Taysom Hill is changing things up to get himself ready.
With New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees retiring following the 2020 season, there are big changes coming for Sean Payton and his offense. All eyes will be on the starting quarterback battle between Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston in camp.
Leading up to that competition, a big change has arrived for Hill. Normally, he’d be getting ready to prepare for positional flexibility as well. This offseason, that’s simply not the case for the 30-year-old signal-caller.
Taysom Hill is focused on quarterback and only quarterback during his offseason workouts
The 6-2, 220-pounder clearly has a new mindset, as he knows he now has the shot to running things offensively for his team next season. With that said, Winston isn’t going to backdown and wants to do everything in his power to try and win the job himself.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback had an up-and-down career in Florida, ultimately leading to the former No. 1 overall pick to leaving town. Since then, Tom Brady arrived to the Bucs and, well, we all know how that story has unfolded.
Regardless, Winston now has the chance to get his career back on track in a big way if he’s able to take down Hill in this position battle. Hill will also have the mindset of proving to Payton that he deserves the job. You already know this won’t be an easy decision for the Saints head coach, and Hill will make things even more difficult with his new focus this offseason.
Come Week 1, will it be Hill or Winston lining up under center? We’re not envious of the call Payton is going to make here soon enough.
