1. Draft Ben Roethlisberger’s replacement

The Steelers have failed to find a true replacement for Roethlisberger and it is time for that to change.

The tricky thing here is that teams often want to take a first-round quarterback if they are high on a guy. Can a second or third-round pick truly be considered a proper replacement for Big Ben?

The Steelers may want to avoid making the same mistake the Green Bay Packers did in 2020 by using a first-round pick on a quarterback who will not play right away. The team wants to compete for a Super Bowl in 2021 and should use the No. 24 overall pick on someone who can compete right away. However, this possibility still remains because the Packers did just fine in 2020.

Kyle Trask is one name linked to the Steelers this offseason and that makes sense given all the top signal-callers expected to go off the board early.

Some Steelers fans may still see Mason Rudolph as the future successor. Dwayne Haskins was also brought in as he looks to salvage his own career.

But the Steelers must strongly consider taking a quarterback in the second or third round. That could be Trask, or even someone like Jamie Newman. Fans should also not rule out the possibility of the team trading up and snagging a top quarterback.

While that may not bode well for morale in 2021, the front office may not care if it ensures the stability of the team moving forward.
