Kentucky Wildcats’ guard Terrence Clarke dies in car accident

Former Kentucky Wildcats guard and NBA Draft prospect Terrence Clarke tragically passed away on Thursday in Los Angeles.

There is tragic news to report regarding a former guard from the 2020-21 Kentucky Wildcats basketball team.

Sources told WKYT in Kentucky that Terrence Clarke passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles on Thursday at the age of 19. Clarke and fellow Kentucky guard B.J. Boston were leaving a workout when the accident occurred, Boston was in a car behind Clarke’s, per WKYT. The report of Clarke’s death was later confirmed by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

According to Tarek Fattal of the Los Angeles Daily News, a Sierra Canyon basketball assistant confirmed that Boston is okay.

Former Kentucky guard Terrence Clarke passes away at the age of 19

Clarke spent one season at Kentucky, where he was limited to eight games due to an ankle injury. In that span of games, Clarke averaged 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 42.1-percent from the field.

This past March, Clarke declared for the NBA Draft. On Wednesday, Clarke signed with Klutch Sports agency. Boston also signed on with Klutch Sports.

Per the Los Angeles Police Department via WKYT, the accident occurred at 2:10 p.m. PT on Winnetka Avenue. He was taken to Northridge Hospital, where he was pronounced dead with his mother by his side.
