2. Wide receivers rising

The Sooner receiving corps struggled to replace CeeDee Lamb in 2020. The goal in 2021 is to give Spencer Rattler more support in the passing game.

Marvin Mims and Theo Wease are back after leading the team in receiving. A bright outing from either to show they’re all set to build off last season would be very welcome.

Fans can also keep an eye on Drake Stoops and Jadon Haselwood as returning pass-catchers looking to up their game.

But really, all the excitement should revolve around the new guy. Mario Williams, an early enrollee, is poised to make an impression to cap a strong first spring.

1. Impact of transfers

The transfer portal has worked both for and against Oklahoma this year. The spring game will begin to reveal how much of an impact transfers will be able to have.

The first place to look is the offensive line, where a trio of new arrivals will battle for starting roles.

Wanya Morris from Tennessee is the favorite to hold down the left tackle spot, while Chris Murray from UCLA and Robert Congel from Arizona will duke it out at center.

Another ex-Volunteer, Eric Gray, will get his shot to impress at running back with Rhamondre Stevenson off to the NFL and T.J. Pledger heading the other way in the transfer portal.

Finally, Keyshawn Lawrence, yet another Tennessee transfer, can grab some attention as a defensive back.
