One young Cubs fan pulled off a true Ferris Bueller stunt Friday afternoon.

The Chicago Cubs are regulars in the afternoon and that means plenty of kids get to take in games in lieu of school. In 2021 that means kids get to miss out on some remote learning.

One fan in particular decided to go full Ferris Bueller and even bring a sign to Friday’s game. This young fan deserves an award for the irrational confidence of the sign she brought to the game.

Young Cubs fan channels Ferris Bueller

The 1980s meet the 2020s as this fan channels Ferris Bueller in skipping school in favor of a ballgame. This is a truly impressive sign. The young lady knows this can end up on television, but the mask perfectly conceals her true identity. Even Ferris didn’t’ think that far.

2020 and 2021 have been weird years for everyone, but schoolchildren in particular have been real troopers. It is not easy to adjust to remote learning and taking in a baseball game instead of school is a worthy reward.

Being a Cubs fan is part of growing up in Chicago. That means attending day games and missing school as a result is all part of the fandom. So why not take a sign to brag about the accomplishment?

The Cubs jumped out to an early 10-0 lead after two innings so this game was a party from the start. That sounds way more fun than sitting in front of a computer all day.
