Yu Darvish turned fellow pitcher Clayton Kershaw into a fool on this embarrassing strikeout.

San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish flat-out embarrassed Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw on this punchout.

After a year of not seeing any pitchers hit in any capacity in the National League, well … it is back. Though some pitchers like Jacob deGrom have had a great time back in the batter’s box, Kershaw did not look like a professional athlete at the plate with Darvish on the mound. It may have been pitcher-on-pitcher crime, but any man toeing the rubber will want to strike out his counterpart.

This breaking ball from Darvish broke all confidence Kershaw thought he had at the plate.

The Padres won easily over Los Angeles in Dodger Stadium in Friday night, 6-1. They have taken a slight season-series lead at 3-2 over The Boys in Blue. Even though the Dodgers have not lost a division crown since the Barack Obama Administration, San Diego poses the biggest threat to Los Angeles on the baseball diamond in years. Every game between these two rivals will matter a ton.

With this win, the Padres improved to 12-10 on the year, creeping ever closer to the NL West-leading Dodgers, who fall to 14-6 on the young MLB season. It really is a shame that one of these two clubs will have to settle for being a Wild Card team this year. However, we cannot wait for the possibility that these two California powerhouses will meet once again for some October baseball.

It may be just another strikeout in the ledger, but Darvish put Kershaw on a poster with this pitch.
