Alex Rodriguez walks directly into steroid jokes with latest Twitter photo
By Scott Rogust
Former MLB star Alex Rodriguez received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and it opened the door for steroid jokes.
We are over a year into the coronavirus pandemic, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. COVID-19 vaccine production and distribution in the United States has increased drastically this year, with the country administering over 200 million doses.
Celebrities and athletes are using their platforms to end vaccine hesitancy in an effort to get as many people inoculated as possible to help bring an end to the pandemic. Former MLB star Alex Rodriguez posted a photo of himself receiving the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, ahead of calling Sunday night’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres.
While it was a great public service announcement, many chose to make steroid jokes towards the former slugger for the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers and New York Yankees.

Social media makes steroid jokes at Alex Rodriguez for receiving COVID-19 vaccine
What did you expect from the comments section of social media post by Rodriguez? We are sure he is numb to the jokes at this point.
Rodriguez has admitted to using performance enhancing drugs in his playing career, where he was suspended for the entirety of the 2014 season for violations of the league’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Rodriguez returned for the 2015 season before ultimately retiring from the game of baseball in 2016.
The former MLB slugger has made headlines recently. Rodriguez and longtime girlfriend Jennifer Lopez called off their engagement. Additionally, the MLB star purchased the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx franchises alongside billionaire Marc Lore.
Rodriguez wanted to express how “grateful” he was to receive his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Sunday, and he was unsurprisingly blasted with steroid jokes.
